victron battery

Battery packs in the current era have become omnipresent that they are almost in every appliance, gadget, automobile, aerospace, satellite, power tool, drone, and even in military equipment. The main idea is the chemical energy that converts to electrical energy along with three ingredients; Cathode, Electrolyte, and Anode. Though the battery technology is about two centuries old, it has passed through various revolutions over the years. We saw battery technology, including lead-acid, gel cell battery, AGM battery, Alkaline Battery, Nickel Cadmium Battery, etc. Now we have the latest version of battery technology, i.e., lithium battery pack, the most advanced form of the electricity storage container.

    Why Lithium Battery:

Lithium battery technology got the attention after the Japanese researchers found the prominent features distinguishing lithium technology from others. It was the 1990s when the research work on lithium batteries got the attention of commercial manufacturers. The LiFePo4 battery combines metal, oxygen, graphite, and course of lithium. The lithium turns towards a positive cathode when generating energy, and during the charging process, the ions shift towards a positive anode. Here are the following advantages lithium battery has over their counterparts:

    High Energy Density:

Lithium battery has the highest energy density standard, which makes it lightest and sleek in design. On average, 1 KG of a lithium battery can hold about six times more current when compared with the lead-acid battery. That’s why the lithium batteries are lightweight and easy to move without support from others.

    Lowest Memory Effect:

Memory effect occurs in batteries due to partial discharge followed by the charge cycle. This drastically affects battery memory as batteries forget the state of charge status. A lead-acid battery has the worst memory effect ratio, with 20%. Lithium batteries have the lowest percentage in the battery world, with under 5%, making them the most efficient battery packs.

    More Life Cycle:

Life Cycle is one of the critical factors in the battery world as it tells about the life span of battery units. A life cycle is the discharge of current from the battery and then complete charge. Typically, the lead-acid battery has the lowest life cycle rate. The lithium-ion battery has the highest life cycles, with thousands of life cycles on average and years of service.

    No Maintenance:

Lead-Acid batteries require continuous maintenance checks and ventilation as well. In the case of a flooded-acid battery, one needs to check for distilled water filling requirements regularly. There are no such requirements in lithium battery packs as no acid or gel fumes are filled in them.

    Deep Discharge Rate:

Discharge rate is yet another concern for battery users as it is the battery’s capacity that we can use to operate appliances. Lead-acid and AGM batteries have a 50% discharge rate capability, i.e., if you have a 100amh lead-acid battery, it means you can get a maximum of 50amh output from that. Anything more could start the sulfation process, which has adverse effects on battery life. The lithium battery has a much-improved discharge rate in the battery world. You can get about 90% of the total capacity of lithium battery packs and up to 100% in some cases.

    Why Deep Cycle Systems:

Deep Cycle Systems masters the art of manufacturing high-precision lithium batteries. We have been serving the Australian energy market for years with top-notch and high-quality products. Our 48v lithium battery pack is best for 48v domestic systems or EVs and RVs. Our batteries passed the quality tests set by various TQM agencies.
