There has been some very nice advances in the lithium battery cell market over the past 12 months. For the first time premium high end lithium iron phosphate battery cells have become commercially available that had previously been exclusively produced for the elite companies in the military space and government departments. These cells achieve 4000 cycles after only 20% capacity fade. So if you convert that to the very misleding ‘cycle life’ which some claim 4000/5000 cycles. These new cells are in the 8,000-10,000 cycle life range.
